Once you’ve opened a document, you can swipe horizontally to move between the different Artboards on the current page. You can also tap on the Artboard previews in the sheet at the bottom of the document (tap once anywhere on your screen if you don’t see the sheet).

In the sheet at the bottom of the screen, you can tap on page names to navigate between the different pages in your document and see the Artboards within them.

Want to see the bigger picture? Switch to Canvas view Canvas page to explore the entire document Canvas, just as you would on your Mac.

Swipe up on the sheet to see more of the document’s contents, such as any prototypes it includes. Swipe down on the sheet to minimize it. To hide the sheet, along with any other UI, tap once on the screen (and tap again to bring it back).

You can view, create and reply to comments. To create a comment, simply tap on the comment button Chat bubbles on the upper right, then place it anywhere on the Canvas.

To share a document’s link with others, tap the Export (Share icon).

When you’ve finished viewing a document, tap the X in the top-left corner to close it.

When you’re viewing a Workspace document that others are editing, you’ll be able to see any updates they make as soon as they make them. There’s no need to refresh or reopen the document.

Once you’ve opened a document, you’ll see a full Canvas view, much like you’d see in the Mac app. Drag around the screen to pan, and pinch to zoom in or out. In Canvas view you’ll see all Artboards, as well as any other content outside of them.

To switch between pages in your document, tap the pill at the top-center of your screen and tap on the name of the page you want to switch to.

Viewing older documents in the iOS app

If you open a document created using an earlier version of the Mac app, you will need to pick from the following options:

  1. Update and Open - updates the document in the Workspace. This will update the document for everyone and they’ll need to use the most recent version of the Mac app to open and edit it. You’ll see any updates made by other Editors working on the document in real-time.
  2. Update as Local Copy - updates the document and opens it locally. This will only update the document for your current session in the iOS app. You won’t see any real-time updates made by other Editors.
  3. Cancel - stops opening the document.
