We’ve built a new iOS app from the ground up that enables you to view documents in every Workspace that you’re part of, play prototypes to test your designs, and mirror your Workspace documents too. All of this is, on the go.
In this article, you’ll find frequently asked questions from our community about how the app works. You can also jump in and get started reading our in-depth guide for the iOS app. Also, if you have already downloaded the app but are running into some unexpected results, please read our troubleshooting guide.
What do I need to use the iOS app?
You’ll need an iPhone running iOS 15.0 or later; an iPad running iPadOS 16.0 or later, a Sketch account with access to one or more Workspaces, and an internet connection. Please note that since you require a Workspace, Mac-only licenses are not supported by the iOS app on iPhone or iPad. We’re just starting to roll out features for the iOS app, so keeping your iPhone or iPad up to date with the latest operating system versions will ensure you get the newest features too!

Can I still use the old Mirror app?
Yes, you can still use the legacy Mirror app with Sketch. But please note that Mirror support will end in 2023. When this happens, the legacy Mirror app will no longer work with the latest Sketch Mac app version and it will no longer be available for download on the App Store. If you previously downloaded Mirror, you’ll still be able to download it from your App Store purchase history. Learn more
The legacy Mirror app is not compatible with the version of Sketch available from the Mac App Store. If you rely on the legacy Mirror app, we recommend downloading Sketch directly from our website to continue accessing this feature.
How can I mirror my files with the iOS app?
All mirroring in the iOS app now happens on your Workspace, so the first thing to do to mirror is save your document to a Workspace. Mirroring is currently available only on iPhone.
Mirroring is now much easier because you don’t need to be on the same network as the Mac app; your iPhone and your Mac can be on different networks if you prefer; just make sure you use the same account to sign in to the Mac app and on your iPhone.
Once your document is saved on your Workspace, open it in the Mac app and also in your iPhone to start mirroring. An icon will appear on the top right corner of the iPhone screen; tap on it to start mirroring.
Do I need to switch to a Standard Plan to use the iOS app?
In short, yes. To get the full experience you’ll need to have an active, paid Workspace Standard Plan where you’ll be able to create on the Mac app and then view and mirror your designs on your iPhone or browse files on your iPad (there’s no mirroring yet on iPad)
iPad Support
We’ve introduced iPad support in version 97! The iOS app now works in your iPad and has some really nice additions like viewing files offline, seeing changes in real time, open local files with Airdrop or file sharing services like Google Drive or Dropbox!
Mirroring on iPad is now available! Update to version 98 or later to mirror your documents. The process is the same as mirroring on your iPhone: save the file to your workspace and open it on both your Mac and your iPad.
One of the nicest additions of the iPad app is that you get a full canvas view, compared with the iPhone, where you have artboard view. Learn all about iPad support for the iOS app right here!
